Fireside chat in St Gallen: Focus on neutrality

Swiss neutrality is one of the most hotly debated issues in current politics. With the federal popular initiative «Preserving Swiss neutrality (Neutrality Initiative)» Swiss voters will be asked to vote on 27 September 2026 decide on the future form of neutrality.

Reason enough to examine the issue from different angles and start a discussion about it.

Look forward to an exciting evening with two distinguished guests:

Christoph Pfluger, journalist and publisher, and a member of the board of Movement for Neutrality (bene), will explain the position of those in favour of the neutrality initiative and set out why, in his view, neutrality should be strengthened.

Dr Friedrich Weibel, a historian and journalist, will present his views on Swiss neutrality and shed light on the subject from a different perspective.

The evening will be hosted by Dr Roland Bühlmann, President of the Friends of the Constitution. He will chair the discussion and ensure an open and respectful exchange between the speakers and with the audience.

After the talk, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and take an active part in the discussion.
