Friends of the Constitution ensure stability in the e-ID referendum

Bern, 5 April 2025 - In the midst of organisational tensions within a referendum committee, the Freunde der Verfassung as a stable anchor in the joint resistance against the new e-ID law.

Thanks to a calm and objective approach, coupled with a stable board and a reliable and well-structured organisation, the Friends of the Constitution succeeded in collecting by far the most signatures of all the groups involved. In addition, we are now assuming responsibility for the timely and proper authentication of the signatures. for all committees.

Referendum is still possible

On 7 April we start with the second certification round. In view of the total number of signatures collected so far, which clearly exceeds the 50,000 mark, the chances of the referendum being successful are good - provided that the number of invalid or duplicate signatures remains within the usual range.

Reliability in turbulent times

Current developments clearly show how important a stable and effective organisational framework is - especially in such a sensitive and democratically important process as a referendum.

The Freunde der Verfassung are ready to take responsibility. Our goal remains clear: to put the E-ID Act to a popular vote with a successful referendum. In favour of digital sovereignty. For the protection of fundamental rights. And for a direct democracy that is not sacrificed to internal power struggles.
